Franklin County, VA — January 5, 2024, one person was killed in a truck accident just before 5:10 in the morning along Route 220.
According to authorities, a Jeep was traveling along Route 220 in the vicinity of the Aviators Circle intersection when the accident took place.
Reports indicate that an 18-wheeler had allegedly been parked illegally on the right-hand shoulder of Virgil H. Goode Highway. The Jeep reportedly collided with the rear-end of the 18-wheeler, resulting in catastrophic damage to both the Jeep and the trailer of the 18-wheeler. The victim who had been behind the wheel of the Jeep incurred reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the crash; they have been declared deceased as a result.
