Johnston County, NC — March 4, 2024, a woman was injured in a car versus truck accident at approximately 1:00 p.m. along U.S. 301.
According to authorities, a woman was traveling in a northbound Chrysler sedan on U.S. Highway 301 in the vicinity of the Thunder Road intersection when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Chrysler collided with the back of a trailer which was in tow behind an 18-wheeler that had been pulling onto the southbound lane of the highway. Photographs of the scene which have been published in the news depict the front driver side of the sedan wedged beneath the trailer.
The woman reportedly suffered injuries of unknown severity as a result of the accident and was taken to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
