Ector County, TX — January 28, 2024, one person was injured in a truck accident shortly before 5:15 p.m. along U.S. Highway 385.
According to reports, a 37-year-old man was traveling in a westbound Chevrolet Traverse SUV on East Glenn Street approaching the U.S. 385 intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the SUV failed to yield the right of way to highway traffic, entering the intersection at an unsafe time. This resulted in a collision between the front of the SUV and the back right of the trailer of a northbound 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler came to a stop facing north on the median, while the SUV came to rest facing southwest and partially blocking the outside northbound lane of the highway.
The 37-year-old man, who had been the sole occupant of the SUV, reportedly incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident. He was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of those involved—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
