Dundy County, NE — November 29, 2023, one person was injured in a truck accident which occurred at some point in the morning along U.S. 61.
Authorities indicate that the accident took place at the intersection of U.S. Highway 61 and Road 702 just north of the border shared with Kansas.

Reports state that a fuel tanker was traveling southbound on the highway when it came to a stop after activating the left turn signal indicating an intention to turn onto the eastbound lane of Road 702. For unknown reasons, an 18-wheeler hauling grain attempted to pass the fuel tanker on the left, resulting in a collision between the two commercial vehicles. The driver of the fuel tanker reportedly incurred a head injury as a result of the accident and was taken by air to a Denver hospital in order to receive treatment. No other injuries were reported.
