Davidson County, NC — February 28, 2024, person was killed in a truck accident that took place shortly before 6:30 a.m. along Interstate Highway 85.
According to authorities, an 18-wheeler was parked on the northbound shoulder of I.H. 85 when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, a second 18-wheeler that had been northbound on the highway collided with the back of the parked 18-wheeler. Following the collision, the rear-ending vehicle veered off of the roadway where it struck several trees, as well. The person who had been behind the wheel of that truck incurred reportedly fatal injuries as a result and was declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries have been reported.
