Bowie County, TX — January 13, 2024, a woman was injured in a truck accident just after 9:00 in the morning along U.S. Highway 82.
According to reports, a 20-year-old woman was traveling in a westbound Ford Bronco on U.S. 82 in the vicinity west of I.H. 30 when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that an 18-wheeler with a trailer in tow was not finished completing its left turn from eastbound U.S. 82 onto the onramp for Interstate Highway 30 by the time the westbound Bronco reached the intersection. In an attempt to avoid a collision with the trailer of the 18-wheeler which was still in the intersection, the Bronco reportedly slammed on the brakes, effectively locking them and causing the vehicle to go into an uncontrolled skid. The Bronco allegedly veered to the left, resulting in a collision with the trailer of a second eastbound 18-wheeler.
Because of the crash, the woman from the Bronco reportedly incurred suspected serious injuries; she was transported to a local medical facility in order to receive immediate treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
