1 Injured in Truck Accident on State Highway 54 near Bloomfield, IN

Bloomfield, IN — December 14, 2024, one person was injured in a truck accident about 6 a.m. on State Highway 54 near North Harv-Wright Road.

Authorities said a semi-truck apparently crashed into a utility pole and caught on fire, trapping the driver inside the vehicle.

The truck was no longer burning when emergency personnel arrived, according to authorities, but the utility pole was lodged in the cab with the driver.

The driver was airlifted to a nearby hospital after he was freed from the wrecked truck, authorities said. He suffered multiple injuries in the crash.

The driver has not been identified at this point.
