Belton, TX — December 21, 2023, one person was injured in a truck accident shortly after 6:30 in the morning along the I.H. 14 frontage road.
According to reports, a 63-year-old man was traveling in an eastbound Ford Econoline van in the left lane of the I.H. 14 service road in the vicinity west of Dogridge Road when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that the van was allegedly traveling without its headlights activated in conditions reported to have been dark and rainy. An 18-wheeler towing a trailer reportedly made a wide right-hand turn from a driveway into the left lane of the service road; this resulted in a collision between the front right of the van and the left side of the trailer in tow behind the 18-wheeler.
The 63-year-old sole occupant of the van incurred suspected serious injuries due to the crash; he was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive immediate treatment. No other injuries were reported.
