Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

While few details are available right now, it seems this may be a challenging series of events to investigate.

Where was this abandoned vehicle? Was it in a lane of travel? Why was it there? Who left it there? Was it reasonably avoidable? How much time passed between the pickup hitting the abandoned vehicle and the car hitting the pickup? Was that secondary collision avoidable? Was alcohol a factor in the crash?

These may seem like obvious questions, but it would surprise folks how often I get a case where authorities have barely scratched the surface on their own. Sometimes, it takes victims and families seeking out second opinions before all the details finally come to light.
