Dallam County, TX — January 16, 2026, Tripper Freeman and one other were injured following a car accident at around 10:42 p.m. along Denver Avenue.
Authorities said that the accident happened at the intersection of East 5th Street and Denver Avenue.
It appears that 20-year-old Tripper Freeman was a passenger in a Cadillac going southbound along Denver Avenue. At East 5th, the vehicle somehow crashed. Due to the crash, Tripper Freeman and the Cadillac driver were seriously injured.

With any single-vehicle accident, it’s important that investigators go beyond just looking for something to blame. A lot of folks will assume the crash happened due to driver error, and that’s certainly worth considering. However, there are other possibilities to look into. Vehicle defects, road hazards, tire blowouts, issues with signage or lighting, other reckless drivers leaving the scene, etc. At the end of the day, victims and families need answers, and they need to know what paths are available to them to get back on their feet. That doesn’t come through finger pointing; that comes through letting the evidence speak for itself.
