Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
This early after an accident, I would caution anyone from taking the initial reports at face value. Until there has been a more careful analysis of the facts, there could still be unusual circumstances to consider. For all we know, something complex like equipment failure or a defect led to the accident. Bringing that kind of thing to light takes a careful accident reconstruction that authorities aren’t likely to wrap up in just a day’s time. In fact, experience makes me wonder if authorities will actually prioritize investigations enough to ensure the victim’s loved ones actually get the answers they deserve.
