Jefferson County, TX — May 26, 2024, Torrence Brown and four others were injured in a car accident at approximately 3:00 p.m. along 9th Avenue.

According to authorities, five people—33-year-old Torrence Brown, a 1-year-old girl, a 25-year-old woman, a 52-year-old woman, and a 53-year-old man—were traveling in a southbound Toyota Avalon on 9th Avenue at the Blackberry Lane intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a westbound Toyota Camry on Blackberry Lane attempted a left turn onto southbound 9th Avenue at an apparently unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign. This resulted in a collision between the front-right of the Camry and the back-left side of the Avalon.

Brown suffered reportedly severe injuries as a result of the wreck; all four others who were also in the Avalon sustained minor injuries, as well. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
