Accident Report
February 22, 2026, a toddler was injured in a pedestrian versus car accident at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Louisiana Avenue.
According to authorities, a 28-year-old man was traveling in a southbound Ford Explorer at the Louisiana Avenue and Santa Clara Street intersection when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Explorer struck a one-year-old boy who had been on foot.
The boy suffered serious injuries due to the collision. EMS transported him to a local medical facility so he could receive necessary treatment. He was later flown to a different hospital in order to receive further care. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. Hopefully, the investigators—whether the authorities or a third party—will get a vehicle inspection done on the Ford in order to expose any underlying mechanical malfunctions or product defects that might have played a role.
