Grayson County, TX — August 19, 2024, Tiffany Mooneyham was injured following a car accident at around 12:11 a.m. along F.M. 121.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened near F.M. 151 and Chestnut Lane, just off TX-160 several miles south of Whitewright.
Investigators said that 41-year-old Tiffany Mooneyham was in a BMW going westbound on F.M. 121. Somehow, the vehicle ran off the side of the road where it went into a skid, then crashed along the ditch. As a result, Mooneyham sustained serious injuries. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident.

I get calls all the time from folks about single-vehicle wrecks like this. The challenge is that they’re not always seen as a high priority. Authorities have other responsibilities to work on, and supervisors may pull officers off an accident reconstruction before they’ve really had a chance to get answers. This can put officers in the uncomfortable spot of either giving an incomplete investigation or jumping to conclusions, which risks blaming someone for something they had no control over. Generally speaking, that’s why these wrecks tend to fare better in the hands of independent investigators who can dedicate the time and tools needed to investigate even unlikely possible factors. Otherwise, victims and families affected by accidents like this may be left looking for answers to questions no one is taking the time to ask.
