How Did This Accident Occur?
Investigators likely will handle this crash like any other injury accident, but they should go a step further if blood tests confirm the wrong-way driver was intoxicated. They should look into where the driver was drinking before the crash.
It’s one thing if the driver had been drinking at home, but another if the driver had been at a bar or restaurant.
Under Texas law, alcohol providers can share responsibility for injuries caused by a patron who was served while obviously intoxicated before they got behind the wheel.
I don’t know if that is what happened in this instance, but it’s worth investigating so the people affected by this crash know everyone who may have played a role in it.
