Accident Report

Conway County, AR — June 10, 2026, three people were injured in a truck accident just after midnight on Interstate 40 near Menifee.

Authorities said a semi-truck overturned after hitting the cable barrier on the left side of the road, blocking both eastbound lanes of the interstate.

The truck driver was seriously injured in the crash, according to authorities, while a woman and a child in the sleeper compartment suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Their names have not been made public yet.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Conway County crash at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

It is not clear at this point what caused this truck to go off the road. Was the driver fatigued or distracted? Did it swerve to avoid another vehicle? Did the truck have an issue with its throttle or steering mechanism? The only way to sort out what happened here, in my experience, is to wait until the investigation is complete.

Authorities likely will start their investigation by working to reconstruct the crash by poring over physical evidence, witness statements, data from the truck’s engine control module and any available video footage. Cell phone records could show if the driver was texting or interacting with an app at the time.

If investigators suspect a mechanical problem contributed to this crash, an outside expert likely will be needed to conduct a forensic examination of the truck. Most law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or training for such inspections, but those injured in this crash deserve to know as much as possible about what caused this accident.
