Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Something to consider after a single-vehicle accident is what the goal of investigations is. Is it just to find someone to blame, or is it to find evidence and let the facts speak for themselves? Unfortunately, the former is all too common. I can’t count how many times families have come to me about a crash because they found out authorities weren’t at all focusing on gathering facts or had even moved on to other work before completing the investigations.

Maybe authorities here have been more thorough, but it’s important victims and families are proactive after a serious crash like this. If it seems the official investigations aren’t making the grade, it may be prudent to have another set of eyes look things over as soon as possible.
