Hill County, TX — October 17, 2023, Teresa Whitney was injured following a car accident at around 3:50 a.m. along Highway 22.
Preliminary details released by authorities indicate that the crash happened in the area of Highway 22 and County Road 2109.
Authorities said in their statements that 44-year-old Teresa Whitney was in a Chevy Traverse going northbound along the highway. The vehicle somehow ran off the side of the road where it struck a tree and overturned. Due to the crash, Whitney had serious injuries. No further information can be confirmed right now.

With crashes like this, accident reconstructions can be a lot more complex than folks may realize. They have to include possible factors like mechanical issues, road design flaws, defects, tire blowouts, and medical conditions. Usually, though, people won’t wait for the facts and instead just assume the driver was on their phone or driving drunk. Are those more common? Of course, but there are so many single-vehicle wrecks, something unusual is bound to happen eventually. The time authorities decide they’re too busy to consider those less common factors could be the time they let something crucial slip through the cracks. Right now, I don’t see any reason why this crash would be an exception to that.
