How Did This Accident Occur?

The investigation will be key in this accident, since it is not clear at this point which vehicle caused the crash. It seems likely that one vehicle ran a red light at the intersection, but the question is why. Was one of the drivers distracted, perhaps by a cell phone? Did one of the vehicles have a brake issue that prevented it from stopping? Were the lights properly calibrated?

I don’t claim to know the answers to these questions, but they are the kind of questions that investigators should consider as they are looking into this crash. Evidence from the scene, data from the vehicles, witness statements and any available witness statements should yield information that leads to answers.
