Socorro, TX — December 16, 2023, four teenagers were injured following a single-vehicle car accident at around 9:00 p.m. along North Loop Drive.
Investigators said in initial public statements that the accident occurred at the intersection of North Loop and Bauman Road.
According to officials, four teenagers (two 15-year-olds and two 17-year-olds) were in a Nissan Pathfinder that was reportedly going along North Loop. At Bauman, the vehicle apparently went to the right on an access road where there is a row of mailboxes. At the end of that road where it meets Bauman, though, the vehicle continued off Bauman where it crashed into a canal.
Due to the accident, three of the teenagers had apparently serious injuries. One person’s injuries were possibly minor. Currently, the exact cause of the crash cannot be confirmed pending further investigations.
