Accident Report

April 24, 2026, a teenager was injured due to a car versus pedestrian hit-and-run accident at 9:48 p.m. along Washington Boulevard.

Investigators said that collision occurred at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Pennsylvania Avenue.

It appears that a 17-year-old was on foot at the time while a vehicle (only described as being red) was going westbound on Washington. The vehicle struck the teen, then reportedly fled the scene.

Due to the accident, the teen pedestrian had serious injuries. It’s unclear if authorities ever identified or located the runaway driver.

How Did This Accident Occur?

While there could be a lot of explanations for this, a late-night hit-and-run raises familiar red flags for possible drunk driving. Drivers are scared of getting in trouble for being drunk behind the wheel, so they choose to risk a hit-and-run instead of risking a DWI. Maybe that isn’t what happened here, but either way it’s important to find the driver and get answers. If authorities have yet to do that, are they able to release more details about the suspect vehicle? The more eyes there are on the evidence, the better the chances someone can connect the dots and ID the driver. I’m confident that continued pressure will yield some progress here so this kid’s family can see some accountability.
