Houston, TX — February 18, 2024, Tai Nguyen and one other person were injured in a car accident at about 12:00 noon along I.H. 69, Southwest Freeway.
According to authorities, 42-year-old Tai Nguyen, a 72-year-old woman, an 18-year-old woman, and an 11-year-old girl were traveling in an eastbound Toyota Rav4 SUV on Southwest Freeway in the vicinity west of Rice Avenue when the accident took place.
Traffic conditions in the area were beginning to slow, reports state. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck failed to appropriately control its speed for the traffic conditions; it collided with the rear-end of the Toyota, according to reports.
Nguyen suffered reportedly severe injuries as a result of the wreck. The 18-year-old girl who had been with her in the Toyota also sustained moderate injuries. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
