Hopefully police have taken further steps to get the word out about the truck involved in this accident. The general public is one of the best tools for finding runaway drivers, but they can only work with what they’re given. Sometimes, authorities can let these situations fall by the wayside.
I recall a case I had a while back, for example, where authorities hadn’t made any progress for months. We started circulating some details in the public, and a couple gave us a call. It turned out they witnessed the crash and followed the truck, writing down the truck’s information. They went to police, but somehow the investigating officer lost their information in the shuffle. Had there not been a continued effort to put out details to the public, there’s no telling if that driver ever would have faced any consequences. It’s possible similar efforts could yield results here, as well.
