Fort Bend County, TX — December 3, 2023, Stubb Brewer was injured as the result of a truck accident at around 2:53 p.m. along the Southwest Freeway.
Preliminary statements released by authorities say that the crash happened in the area of I-69 and Highway 36.

It appears that 56-year-old Stubb Brewer was in a Peterbilt semi-truck going southwest along the interstate. Details suggest that the driver’s side tire blew out, causing the truck to lose control and veer across the median. Brewer’s truck crashed through the barrier and overturned into oncoming lanes. As a result, Brewer had incapacitating injuries.
Right now, there are no more confirmed details.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Folks may not think there would be much to discuss. After all, tire blowouts are unavoidable, right? Well, not always. Keep in mind other possibilities, such as an employer failing to maintain their vehicles, or even a manufacturing issue causing a failure despite normal usage. Common or not, it’s important there is evidence to confirm or otherwise rule out factors leading to a blowout. Since I rarely see police departments prioritize those kinds of investigations, I’d be surprised if they knew more about what happened here than they’re telling the public.
