Parker County, TX — May 24, 2024, Steve Boles was killed as the result of a hit-and-run accident at around 5:30 a.m. on South Main Street.
Initial details about the accident say it happened near the intersection of South Main Street and Alford Drive, just south of I-20.

According to officials, 62-year-old Steve Gregg Boles was on foot and attempting to cross Main Street. While doing so, a southbound vehicle reportedly hit Boles, then left the scene. Boles died as a result. The suspect runaway driver was reportedly located and apprehended by police. They recommended charges for accident involving death.

In these situations, I have to wonder if authorities looked beyond the surface to make sure they know the whole story. Hit-and-runs, for example, rarely happen just because someone panics. More often, there’s something specific the driver doesn’t want police to find out about. Did they have warrants? Were they drunk or on drugs? Was the vehicle stolen? At the end of the day, the families I work with on a daily basis aren’t just looking for a bad guy. They want to see accountability for those who wronged them. That should mean ensuring all factors surrounding a deadly accident get the attention they deserve. Did that happen here?
