Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

People generally want to be sure their side of the story is going to be told fairly. In my experience, two types of accidents can make that uniquely challenging: single vehicle wrecks and motorcycle wrecks.

Simply put, people are more likely to just blame both kinds of drivers without actually considering the facts. Even authorities might jump to conclusions if they feel a crash is open-and-shut or not high on their list of priorities.

As such, it can help to have independent investigators look into accidents like this one. At worst, they may simple reaffirm what authorities already looked into. At best, they can catch vital details that authorities missed and help set the record straight.
