Tyler, TX — June 14, 2024, Stephen Browning III was killed and Bryce Wilkerson was injured after a motorcycle accident around 12:23 a.m. on Highway 31.
Authorities said that the incident happened in the area of the Chandler Highway and West Front Street merge, just off S.W. Loop 323.

Initial details say that 51-year-old Stephen Browning III and 28-year-old Bryce Wilkerson were on separate Harley-Davidson motorcycles. They were both going westbound when the motorcycles somehow lost control. Browning’s bike crashed off the side of the road while Wilkerson laid down along the roadway. As a result, Browning was killed, and Wilkerson had reportedly serious injuries.
Currently, no further information is available.

One thing I’d hope to see is that authorities were being careful and thorough in their investigations. Frankly, motorcyclists often get swept under the rug, as people just assume they’re all reckless drivers. That obviously happens, but unless there is clear evidence, no one should be saying what did or didn’t happen here. It could be something common, or it could be highly unusual circumstances that require more thorough independent investigations. At the end of the day, those involved deserve to know they’re getting the whole story. Is that happening here?
