Ellis County, TX — July 16, 2025, Sony Mathew was killed as the result of a car accident at around 6:41 p.m. along Interstate 45.
Preliminary statements on the accident say that it happened in the area of I-45 and FM 813.
According to officials, 50-year-old Sony Mathew was in a Honda CR-V traveling northbound on the interstate. For reasons not clear, the vehicle lost control and crashed. This resulted in Sony Mathew sustaining fatal injuries.

Single-vehicle accidents can be a lot more complex than folks realize. They make up a significant portion of the calls I get from concerned families who want to be sure they’re getting the full story. Things aren’t simple just because there’s one vehicle involved. All kinds of factors need close attention.
What were road conditions like? Did authorities pull data from the vehicle? Have they secured cellphone records? Did they analyze the vehicle for possible defects? Did another vehicle flee the scene? Have authorities looked for cameras at nearby businesses or residences? Could a lack of signage or faulty road design be involved?
Likely or not, these factors can cause serious accidents. That’s why a lot of people end up wanting a second pair of eyes looking over a deadly crash. Authorities don’t always dig beyond surface-level details, and it’s important that people know they’re not missing anything important.
