Somerset, TX — December 4, 2025, one person was injured following a school bus accident around 5:45 a.m. along Highway 16.
Initial details about the accident say that it happened at the intersection of Highway 16 and Encino Drive.
Details right now are sparse, but officials say that a Somerset ISD school bus was going along the road when another vehicle “pulled out in front of the bus.” The bus driver reportedly made an evasive maneuver, and the bus overturned.
Due to the crash, an adult aide on the bus had apparently non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were confirmed.

Hopefully there really were no serious injuries here, and hopefully authorities are digging beyond the surface to piece together what happened. One thing I’m wondering about is video evidence. A lot of buses these days have cameras onboard which can provide valuable insight into what caused a crash. It’s often time-sensitive, so preserving it sooner rather than later is best. Was that evidence available here?
