Jean, NV — September 17, 2025, two people were injured following a skydiving accident outside of Vegas at around noon.
Authorities from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department say the accident happened at a skydiving area several miles south of Las Vegas.

According to officials, two people were skydiving as a pair at the time from roughly 11,000 feet. It appears something went wrong with both the main and backup parachutes, and the skydivers hit the ground, reportedly at 35-45 MPH.
Both skydivers reportedly sustained critical injuries. At this time, additional details surrounding the accident are still under investigation.

I have to wonder if the authorities in charge of these investigations have the details in the hands of investigators who can actually inspect the parachutes properly. After all, this isn’t exactly a car accident that police generally have the tools and training to handle. Getting answers here might require input from professionals who have more specific training and equipment.
