Northampton County, PA — December 18, 2024, one person was injured in a single-vehicle truck accident at approximately 8:30 a.m. along State Highway 33.
According to authorities, an 18-wheeler was traveling northbound on S.H. 33 in the vicinity between William Penn Highway and S.H. 22 when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the truck failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It apparently veered to the left where it entered the grassy median between the north and southbound lanes of the highway before swerving back to the right and crossing over both of the northbound lanes. It then left the roadway again, overturning and coming to a stop resting on its left side after colliding with an embankment on the far side of the right shoulder.
One person who had been in the truck suffered injuries of unknown severity, according to reports; they were transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
