Houston, TX — July 31, 2024, one person was killed and another was injured in a single-car accident shortly before 1:30 p.m. along Briar Forest Drive.
According to authorities, two people were traveling in a westbound Porsche Macan on Briar Forest Drive approaching the Deep Spring Lane intersection when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that the Porsche may have been traveling at high speeds leading up to the accident. It reportedly failed to safely maintain its lane of travel, veering off of the roadway and crashing into a tree in the center median. The collision with the tree led to the vehicle catching on fire.
The person who had been behind the wheel of the vehicle suffered fatal injuries, according to reports, and was declared deceased at the scene. The passenger incurred injuries of unknown severity and was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Their injuries were not described as life-threatening.
