Amarillo, TX — January 20, 2024, one person was killed in a car accident just after 9:30 a.m. along East Amarillo Boulevard.
According to authorities, one person was traveling in an eastbound Subaru Crosstrek on Amarillo Boulevard in the vicinity of the English Road intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that the Subaru was purportedly traveling at high rates of speed. The vehicle was allegedly unable to safely maintain its lane of travel; as a result, it veered right off of the side of the roadway where it collided with a first a fence and then a gas line before crashing into a building and finally coming to a stop. The crash reportedly caused the Subaru to become engulfed in flames. The sole occupant of the vehicle was declared deceased at the scene of the accident.
