Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
With a single-vehicle accident, it’s always a concern whether or not authorities are getting clear answers about what went wrong. Simply put, there aren’t always seen as a high priority, so things can easily slip through the cracks if steps aren’t taken to give the crash the attention it deserves. Were there vehicle defects? Did a tire blow out? Are there issues with the roadway? Did poor road design or a lack of signage play a role? Likely or not, these things happen, which is why it’s important investigators are able to consider them thoroughly and at least rule them out. I’ve found that taking for granted that authorities will tackle that on their own often proves to be risky.
