Accident Report

Taylor County, WV — May 19, 2026, Shonda Rawlings-Henderson was killed in a truck accident at about 9:30 a.m. on U.S. Route 50/Northwest Turnpike.

Authorities said a 2013 Peterbilt log truck was heading west when its fully loaded trailer overturned on an eastbound 2019 Ford F-150 as it was going around a curve near Siggens Hollow Road.

Ford driver Shonda Rawlings-Henderson, 51, of Dinwiddie, VA was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near Thornton, according to authorities.

No other injuries were reported.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Taylor County crash at this time. The accident is still under investigation.

Log trucks aren’t supposed to overturn, even when they are fully loaded. Was the driver going too fast? Was his load secured properly? Did the trailer lose a tire or have some other kind of issue? Investigators should consider questions like this so they can figure out how this crash happened.
