Accident Report

Cherokee County, TX — August 7, 2206, Sharicia Hinson was killed in a car accident at about 8:10 p.m. on Maydelle Highway/F.M. 2138 near Jacksonville.

Authorities said a southbound 2011 Chevrolet Cruze was making a U-turn when it was rear-ended by a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, causing it to spin around in the road. The other vehicle drove off the road and hit a tree.

The Equinox driver, 32-year-old Rusk resident Sharicia Hinson, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near County Road 3141, according to authorities.

The other driver, a 31-year-old Chandler woman, was hospitalized with unspecified injuries, authorities said.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Cherokee County crash at this time.
