How Did This Accident Occur?
There isn’t enough information to make any concrete conclusions here, but vehicles crashing on the interstate is usually the result of something like distracted driving, unsafe speeds, or following too closely. Maybe that’s what happened here. It’s important, though, to make sure investigations cover even unlikely possible factors. Even something like a vehicle defect, for example, needs attention so nothing important slips through the cracks. That can be especially challenging when there’s a commercial truck involved.
That’s why I’ve generally found victims and families are best served following up early on with the authorities. If it seems like authorities are dedicating time and resources to the investigations, that’s good. But if it seems like they’re moving on too quickly or are in over their heads, steps can be taken top bring in independent investigators who can pick up the slack.
