It appears that 53-year-old Scott Susz was on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle going northbound along Commercial Street. While making a left turn, the motorcycle apparently traveled off the side of the road, went into a parking lot, and rolled over. Susz had reportedly serious injuries as a result. Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

One thing that really gets on my nerves with crashes like this is people are far more willing to give drivers the benefit of the doubt after typical car wrecks than when the victim is a motorcyclist. They see that, and all that benefit of the doubt flies out the window. Despite there still being a possibility of unavoidable factors like mechanical issues, medical conditions, or road hazards, for example, people are far more likely to just assume the victim did something wrong. That’s obviously possible, but a driver on two wheels doesn’t deserve any less thorough investigations than a driver on four or ten or eighteen wheels. Hopefully, this crash was put in the hands of someone who gets that.
