Odessa, TX — August 14, 2025, Santiago Noe Gonzalez was killed following a work accident in the area of I-20 and County Road 1303.
Investigators said in preliminary statements that the accident happened at Southern Tire Mart, located at 12618 W I-20 East, west of the airport.
According to officials, 21-year-old Santiago Noe Gonzalez was working at the time. Due to events which aren’t clear right now, Santiago Noe Gonzalez sustained fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported.

While the details about this accident aren’t yet clear, Texas work fatality laws always present a significant challenge for workers’ families. Despite what many think, there isn’t always an automatic process for getting folks the resolution they need. That may be up to them to provide the right evidence through the right legal lens to ensure the worker’s employer agrees to a fair solution for all involved. So while OSHA may be helpful in this regard, it’s more likely just one piece of the much larger puzzle.
