How Did This Accident Occur?

I don’t know anything more about this crash than what’s already publicly available. However, I always caution against folks who just assume single-vehicle wrecks always happen when a driver makes a mistake. That’s just not true. It is true that things like distracted driving and fatigue are common in these early-morning crashes. But have authorities considered other possibilities?

What about something like a tire blowout? Do they have specialists who can analyze tires for defects? And did the victim get a chance to tell her side of the story before EMS took her to the hospital? It would shock people just how many crash investigations I’ve handled where it turned out authorities never bothered to follow up with the victims after their preliminary investigations. This can create gaps in the story which may require independent investigations to fill in.

So, regardless of what happened here, my hope is that it’s in the right hands so no possible factor—however seemingly unlikely—slips through the cracks.

Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever heard about authorities missing important details after a car crash.
