Collin County, TX — May 17, 2024, Salvador Gutierrez and a teenage girl were injured in a car accident shortly before 6:15 p.m. along U.S. Highway 380.
According to authorities, 50-year-old Salvador Gutierrez and a 15-year-old girl were traveling in an eastbound Ford Econoline van on U.S. 380 at the Cypress Bend intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a westbound Chevrolet Tahoe on U.S. 380 attempted a left turn onto Cypress Bend at an apparently unsafe time, resulting in a collision between the front-end of the van and the front-right side of the Tahoe. The collision pushed the van to the right where was involved in a secondary and tertiary collision with an eastbound Honda CR-V and a northbound Ford F-150.
Both Gutierrez and the teen who was with him in the van suffered suspected severe injuries as a result of the wreck; they were transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
