Accident Report
Rains County, TX — April 1, 2026, Sally Putnam was killed in a hit-and-run truck accident at about 3:45 p.m. on U.S. Highway 69 northwest of Alba.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2019 Nissan Rogue was heading north when it collided with a semi-truck that was changing lanes near County Road 3381. The truck did not stop after the crash.
A passenger in the Nissan, 71-year-old Dorothy “Sally” Lynn Putnam, died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to the report.
The driver, a 78-year-old man, was not hurt, the report states.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Rains County crash at this time.
