UPDATE (February 2, 2024): The victims who lost their lives as a result of this accident have been identified as 21-year-old Sabria Lacey, 21-year-old Anthony Lisbon, 22-year-old DeAvion Aubert, and 21-year-old Robert Gowans Jr.

Dallas, TX — February 1, 2024, four people were killed and another was injured in a police chase that ended in an accident at around 2:00 a.m. along I-35E.

According to authorities, a police chase was instigated after a stolen vehicle refused to be pulled over for a traffic stop on North Belt Line Road in Irving.

The stolen vehicle made it as far as the vicinity of I-35E and the Woodall Rogers Freeway before it lost control and veered off of the ramp to Woodall Rogers, crashing into a light pole and finally coming to a stop. All four people who had been occupants of the stolen vehicle incurred reportedly fatal injuries and were declared deceased at the scene of the accident. A deputy’s vehicle was allegedly struck by the falling light pole which caused it to crash into a concrete barrier. The deputy incurred reportedly moderate injuries to his arm, as a result.
