Harris County, TX — January 16, 2026, a man sustained fatal injuries after an apparent hit-and-run accident early Friday on Almeda Genoa Road.
Officials said in preliminary statements that they got calls around 3:00 a.m. about a pedestrian accident off the corner of Almeda Genoa Road and Aldenwale Lane, just east of Almeda Road.
According to initial reports, a man was on the eastbound lanes of Almeda Genoa when a vehicle struck him. That vehicle then left the scene. The man sustained fatal injuries in the collision.
Right now, authorities have not described a suspect vehicle. Investigations are ongoing.

One thing I wonder is if authorities looked at nearby businesses or residences to check for cameras. These days, a lot of people have security systems which sometimes have a view of the road. That could help provide an image of a suspect vehicle authorities could publish to get more eyes on the situation. Someone is bound to connect the dots and come forward with new details authorities need to make an arrest. That evidence is often time-sensitive, though, it’s best to search sooner rather than later.
