Kaufman County, TX — October 23, 2023, Roy Lee Shepherd was killed as the result of a single-vehicle accident at around 11:30 p.m. on F.M. 429.
Authorities said in their statements that the incident happened near the intersection of Farm-to-Market 429 and F.M. 2727.
According to officials, 56-year-old Roy Lee Shepherd was the driver of a Ford F-150 that was going southbound on F.M. 429. For reasons unconfirmed, the vehicle went off the right side of the road where it entered the ditch, hit multiple objects, and then crashed into a culvert.
The accident resulted in Shepherd sustaining fatal injuries. Right now, there are no further confirmed details about what caused the crash.
