Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
A lot of the time when people see that ice is on the road during a crash, they just pin all of the blame on the weather conditions. Having handled countless fatal accident cases, though, I know from experience that weather conditions themselves rarely cause accidents. More often, it’s the failure of drivers to adjust their behavior during those conditions that leads to a crash.
As such, my hope is authorities have been hard at work looking into the actions of all the drivers involved in this crash and how, if at all, they could have avoided these collisions. While unusual things can occur, the most likely explanation is that someone’s negligence led to a family losing their loved one. If that’s true, they deserve answers.
