How Did This Accident Occur?

Many folks, when they hear about single-car accidents that happen early in the morning, are quick to point the finger at the person who had been behind the wheel. I, however, am not so eager to jump to that conclusion after over thirty years in this career. Why? Because I’ve seen plenty of similar cases in which thorough investigation managed to unearth evidence of less likely causes.

I don’t want to give the appearance of having more information about this specific accident than anyone else does, by the way. As far as I am aware, driver error has yet to be eliminated as a cause. However, I would like to point out that, hypothetically, the wreck could have been a result of something gone wrong with the Jeep itself. For example, what if it had steering mechanism issues at the time of the wreck? Or maybe a tire blew out? Have throttle issues or brake failure been considered? I understand that these things are not necessarily likely, but neither are they outside of the realm of possibility.

Hopefully investigators—whether the authorities or a third party—get an in-depth vehicle inspection done one the Jeep. That is the thing that will bring to light any mechanical malfunctions or produce defects that might otherwise have slipped between the cracks. After all, the loved ones left behind by the victim deserve to be given a clear and detailed understanding of not only how it happened, but also why. Surface-level investigation just can’t provide that kind of clarity.
