Hidalgo County, TX — January 24, 2024, one person was injured in a single-car rollover accident shortly before 11:30 p.m. along Eldora Road.
According to reports, a 25-year-old man was traveling in an eastbound Jeep Grand Cherokee along Eldora Road a little over a quarter of a mile west of Alamo Road when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the Jeep failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered left, crossing the center line and the westbound lane before leaving the roadway completely and crashing into a cement pipe. This collision caused the jeep to overturn, allegedly striking a steel pipe fence and a water line before coming to a stop resting on its right side.
The 25-year-old victim incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident; he was transported to a local medical facility in order to receive necessary treatment.
