Accident Report
November 6, 2025, Rolando Gomez was killed as the result of a work accident that took place off East US Highway 67.
Authorities said that the accident happened east of town off of US Highway 67. Few details about the accident are available. 44-year-old Rolando Gomez was on the job when he somehow sustained fatal injuries. A preliminary OSHA report does not include recommended penalties or citations.
Investigations are ongoing.
How Did This Accident Occur?
There certainly isn’t enough information here for me to go throwing around theories. OSHA reports can concern anything from a vehicle accident to a medical emergency to a structure collapse to a mistake made by someone from a completely separate company. I’ve been a part of countless work accident investigations, and it’s rare for any two of them to be the same.
What remains consistent, though, is that Texas has the most complex work fatality laws in the whole country. Despite what a lot of folks think, there isn’t always some automatic process working behind the scenes to get families the answers or the benefits they need. So regardless of what happened here, my hope is that steps have been taken to keep the family in the loop so they can at least have a clear path forward.
