Walker County, TX — January 9, 2024, Roderick Lucas was killed and one person was injured following a single-vehicle accident at around 11:15 a.m. on F.M. 980.
Authorities said in their statements that the crash took place near the intersection of F.M. 980 and McMillian Road, just outside of Riverside.
According to officials, 53-year-old Roderick Lucas and a 35-year-old woman were in a Toyota Corolla that was going northbound from McMillian to F.M. 980. The vehicle apparently lost traction and spun out, then ran off-road where it crashed into a tree.
As a result of the collision, Lucas sustained fatal injuries. The passenger’s injuries were described as serious. At this time, there are no other details confirmed about the crash.
